Sant Singh Sukha Singh Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Opposite Company Bagh, The Mall, Amritsar is one of the oldest educational institution in the entire region. Started on May 13, 1893 in the form of a Primary School at the Dharamshala Building in the Bazar Mai Sewan in the vicinity of Sri Darbar Sahib it has a unique legacy of philanthropy. S. Sant Singh ji Rais, the founder donated his entire property and created a trust in the memory of his late son, S. Sukha Singh who died young and started a school with a mere four children. S. Sant Singh ji breathed his last on May 17, 1893 – only four days after the inception of the school. The school grew into middle school in 1897. It was shifted to the Mall Road Campus in 1938 where it was upgraded as a High School and later on Higher Secondary in 1958. The school was awarded as the Best School of Punjab in 1980.

The school has a rich heritage and most accomplished alumni comprising eminent Doctors, Engineers, IAS officers, Army Personnel, Corporate Leaders, High Court Judges and Governors of State.

Presently this school is located at the Mall Road opposite to the historic Ram Bagh Garden. This co-educational school is affiliated to Punjab School Education Board(P.S.E.B), Mohali and is one of the biggest schools in the region having enrollment of more than 1200 students in the streams of Medical, Non-medical, Commerce and Humanities and staff strength is 36.
