SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar celebrated Bibi Rajdevi Diwas devoted to Punjabi language with great enthusiasm on 10 November, 2024 dedicating the day to the life and legacy of Bibi Rajdevi Ji, wife of S.Sant Singh Ji, who made a significant contribution to girls’ education. The celebration commenced with a poignant poetry recitation by students, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings. Students of Niralam group took the stage to present a poetical description of Bibi Rajdevi’s life and work, bringing to light her enduring influence on the empowerment of girls through education. The recitations beautifully captured her dedication and vision, while the folk songs added a traditional touch, resonating with the cultural heritage of Punjab. On this occasion, students presented the report related to the project conducted to mark Punjabi Diwas. The purpose of the project was to acquaint the students about the Punjabi writers and literates of Amritsar city. Director S. Jagdish Singh Ji acknowledged the remarkable influence of Bibi Rajdevi Ji and emphasized the cultural and historical significance of Punjabi language. Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur encouraged students to carry forward the legacy of education and social change. Mrs. Savita Khanna, Principal of allied College also graced the occasion with her presence. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to students who had excelled in calligraphy competition and exquisite handwriting contest.
