Sant Singh Sukha Singh (SSSS) Group of Schools and Colleges organized Conference on the theme ‘Women Education and Empowerment’ on November 10, 2018; and dedicated the day to Bibi Raj Devi, the wife of S. Sant Singh, the founder of SSSS institutions. The conference took place at SSSS College of Arts for Women, Maqboolpura Chowk, G.T. Road, Amritsar.
Behind every successful man, there‘s a woman. This is true. During nineteenth century, Bibi Raj Devi, a courageous and determined woman, supported her husband and offered with full devotion all their riches for noble cause of education in the affectionate memory of their deceased son. Director S. Jagdish Singh Ji shared that the school started with four students after offering Ardaas at the High Seat of Akal Takhat and Sri Darbar Sahib in the year 1893 on May 13. The school was started for creating a better future of the locals and promoting the Sikh education. Today SSSS Group of Schools and Colleges is spreading the light of education and fulfilling the dreams of the young children by providing general and professional education.
The programme started after seeking blessings of Almighty by reciting College Shabad ‘Hum Santan Ki Rein Piyare’. Principal Dr. Narinder Kaur, SSSS College of Arts for Women welcomed all the delegates, the students and the guests. While paying obeisance to the noble memory of Bibi Raj Devi, Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur, SSSS College of Commerce for Women, highlighted the idea of organizing the conference. She emphasised that SSSS institutions are committed to provide value-oriented education to the future generation at affordable fee structure. Well placed alumnae of SSSS shared their experiences while reflecting on the days spent in the institution. In heart touching stage presentation of history of SSSS institutions students showed cased the contribution of strong-minded lady. On this occasion Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Principal, Khalsa College for Women, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Principal, Khalsa College for Education, Ms. Neeraj Luthra, Dr. Devyani, Ms. Harmandeep Kaur shared their views. Mrs. Manjeet Kaur and Mrs. Jaskiran Kaur thanked the guests. The students of Commerce College presented the cultural programme under the guidance of Ms. Kiran Bala.

About 400 students, teachers, educationists and renowned personalities graced the event.
