SSSS College of Commerce for Women, Amritsar jointly with SSSS College of allied Studies Amritsar organized award ceremony on February 2, 2023. The event was conducted for honouring the students securing the marks more than 70 percent in Business & Accounting Talent Search Examination (BATSE) 2023 held through online mode on January 29, 2023. The purpose of conducting this contest was to assess students’ learning aptitude in commerce and management and helping them to opt the suitable courses in the disciplines of commerce and management. 339 students from 25 senior secondary schools affiliated with Central and State educational boards appeared in the examination. Certificates were awarded to all 108 successful candidates. The students securing more than 80 per cent marks were honoured with prizes and four students securing 95 percent marks were honoured with the trophy.
S. Jagdish Singh Ji Director, while welcoming the Chief Guest Mr. Vikramjeet, Deputy Director and Mr. Gaurav Career Counsellor from District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE) emphasized on need of career counseling for shaping the future of young generation.
The chief guest enlightened the students about the Nodal agency DBEE, it’s outreaching activities, various government schemes, facilities available at DBEE center for preparing for various competitive examinations at state and national levels. He added dedication, hard work and consistency as the key factors for being successful in a profession. The expert also briefed the students about various professional avenues including the armed forces.
The Chief guest and Career Counselor, DBEE, were presented token of gratitude. Mrs. Disha Mohan and Mrs. Ravinder Kaur from Govt. School Shivala, S. Sukhwinder Singh from SSSS College of Allied Studies, Mrs. Manpreet Kaur from SSSS Modern School, Mrs. Shruti Sarin From Khalsa International School and Mrs. Shikha from SSSS Junior College of Commerce were also honoured for their remarkable contribution in conducting the test. Principals and faculty members of sister institutions and teachers Mrs. Pooja Sharma and Mrs. Seema Mohan from Govt. School Mall road graced the occasion. Parents of the students were the special guests of the event.
In the end, students performed the folk dance. Assistant Professor in Commerce Ms. Ramya recited the poem in praise of the self- the soul.
Principal Dr. Navdeep Kaur congratulated all the students for their performance and wished them good luck. She thanked and appreciated the chief guest for the informative information and the audience. In her address she raised a question pertaining to brain drain and suggested not to be the part of herd mentality for going abroad rather to think and research all the information about what you want to do. Do what you cherish should be the motive.
Principal Mrs. Savita Khanna, Mrs. Jaskiranjit Kaur and Ms. Twinkle Mahajan coordinated the test. Dr. Samriti Kapoor acquainted the audience with various courses they can opt after class 12. Dr. Payal conducted the event successfully.
